‘Little Angel and the Unknown’

This solo was created in inspiration and admiration of the song L’Inconnue by Beach House.

My connection to this song began in 2020 when I choreographed a short phrase to it. Even then, I was drawn to its layered sound and ethereal quality, knowing I wanted to use it for a longer choreography someday.

What makes L’Inconnue so compelling is its ability to maintain a steady hum while evolving through intricate textures. This duality—constancy and complexity—became the foundation of the choreography. The movement mirrors the song’s structure, repeating motifs shift and transform, much like the way the music builds upon itself.

The goal was to translate the song’s haunting beauty into motion, blending fluidity and control. This solo is both a reflection of my deep connection to L’Inconnue and an exploration of its intricate soundscape, expressed through movement.
